Ac Tah, a Mayan leader who, in the past few years has come into fame spreading his message in Mexico, speaks that 2012 is not the end of life, it is actually the beginning. Changes are happening now, and will continue to take place after 2012. Humanity as a whole will rise up in mindfulness. He states positively the extent of the changes that will occur and how difficult they are hugely depend on the level of human consciousness. He says the best thing we all can do at this time is to come together in unity, regardless of race, religion, creed or belief.

There are other spiritual chieftains from Mexico, which contains one of the largest Mayan populations, who have a very much the same message. Well-known author of The Four Agreements, don Miguel Ruiz has recently published another book called The Fifth Agreement. Don Miguel states the goal of changing the world is finding equilibrium between altruism and gratitude - which is an expression of true love. The way we have an impact on energy is by way of awareness. So, as we move deeper into love in our energy, thoughts, feelings, words and deeds, we affect our mother, the earth, in a positive way.

The bottom line is that even as there may be countless changes that transpire as we get near 2012 and after, and these changes can bring up fear of the unknown, we are living in a special time in humanity's history. What on the exterior may look like calamity is really the old coming to an end in order to make way for the new. This doesn't mean that there will not be misfortune as the changes take place. When a big establishment collapses many lose their jobs. When there are earthquakes, many may even lose their lives. And, while such things have always taken place in human history, it does not negate the complexities and tragedies that occur. At the same time, however, according to the Mayans and other spiritual masters, in the bigger picture what is happening has been destined to happen for a very long time. And most significantly, it is bringing humans to a much better world to inhabit.
